More About Me

After six years training to qualify as a criminal defence lawyer, I boldly quit! I didn't know what my future career would look like, only that I wanted to champion social change so that the systems I had seen failing people, would instead help them - and all of us - to thrive.

I'm proud to have had a 'squiggly career' enabling me to experience different layers and levels of social change eco-systems over the last 25 years. I've worked across intersecting issues including justice, education, youth work, health, housing, equalities and families - building my understanding of how they interact with each other.

I've built my expertise championing change in the charity sector by piloting innovative projects; influencing policy and practice; researching and evaluating new approaches; co-producing strategies and communicating stories and solutions.

But none of us can shift systems alone. I've been fortunate to have collaborated with many passionate people in the UK and globally leading and supporting different alliances for social change.

These networks broke down silos between sectors, disciplines and regions by bringing together the combined power of lived, learned and professional expertise to create lasting impact.

Inspired by my Churchill Fellowship travels, I co-designed a pioneering lived experience leadership programme. As a former charity chief executive, I'm passionate about supporting the next generation of social change champions, whatever role or job title they may have.

I have been trained in systems facilitation and Lewis Deep Democracy with the School of System Change.

I'm excited to have recently embarked on a new chapter of my 'squiggly career' - a part-time professional doctorate in social and criminal justice at Greenwich University.

I will be researching movement building, lived experience leadership and philanthropy using co-designed, participatory and creative approaches.

I'm based in South London, but can often be found around the West End while taking my son to auditions, rehearsals and performances #stagemumlife.

I love the theatre, travelling and practising storytelling and public speaking at my local Toastmasters and open mic nights.
